SYNOPSIS

Breaking up is hard to do...with your BFF. Lexi Jones, is on a mission to find a new best friend after breaking up with her toxic best friend of 20 years. In her search, she meets a bevy of interesting characters which makes Lexi wonder, if she made the right choice.

It's Not You is a web series that focuses on making friends as an adult, and the dilemma of letting go of lifelong friendships while growing from toxic relationships. Like most adults, once I left college, I realized it is much harder to establish friendships outside of school. Sure we have our work-friends and acquaintances, but for some reason, those friendships sometimes pale in comparison to the spark experienced growing up. Because of this, we might find ourselves staying in unhealthy relationships. Pre-pandemic, we were able to put blinders on because there was always the potential to temporarily disconnect. However, once the pandemic hit, many of us started to take stock of the relationships we had around us. It's Not You was created to highlight the quirks of trying to build those solid platonic connections with other adults.
